Electromagnetic Radiation

What you can’t see might be robbing your health and vitality

Radiation hazards The old Invisible Man television series featured a character that could not be seen. He could sneak up on anyone and get away with just about anything. There was no warning that he was present. The same is true of electromagnetic and radioactive energy fields – we generally have no indication that they are present.

With the ever-increasing reliance on electronic technologies, few places remain where you can escape the energy of satellite signals, wireless Internet connections, cellular phones, computers, and other modern technologies. By living in cities, you are constantly bombarded by energy from these devices. And even rural residents are exposed daily to the myriad of electrical fields produced by their household appliances, as well as potential radiation from the earth itself. Can you imagine what it would look like if you could see every radio frequency, every microwave transmission, and every satellite signal? It would be quite a psychedelic light show!

Until about 100 years ago, the only radiation to which
humans were exposed came from natural sources, predominantly sunlight.

Power linesWith the advent of electricity, man-made sources of electromagnetic fields and radiation have increased our exposure exponentially. Electromagnetic waves are produced by the motion of electrically charged particles. These waves are also called electromagnetic radiation, because they radiate from the electrically charged particles. They travel through empty space as well as through air and other substances, including the human body. They are an important, thought often-overlooked, source of Chronic Stress.
